چکیده
We present a new 3D MHD heliospheric model for space-weather forecasting driven by boundary conditions defined from white-light observations of the solar corona. The is based on code PLUTO, constrained an empirical derivation wind background properties at 0.1au. This method uses to estimate position current sheet. necessary run Heliocast are then pre-defined relations between (speed, density and temperature) distance assess accuracy over six Carrington rotations during first semester 2018. Using point-by-point metrics event analysis, we evaluate performances our varying angular width slow layer surrounding also compare technique with two well tested models corona: Multi-VP WindPredict-AW. find that suited reproduce high speed streams, does --for chosen parameters-- better than full models. shows, nonetheless, limitations could worsen rising maximum activity.

The heliospheric magnetic field at solar minimum: Ulysses observations from pole to pole
The fast transit of the Ulysses spacecraft from the south polar regions of the heliosphere to the north polar regions has allowed us to obtain a unique perspective on the configuration and properties of the heliospheric magnetic field at a time of solar minimum activity. We compare the magnetic field in the northern and southern hemispheres and find no evidence of asymmetry in the radial compon...
متن کاملThe Magnetic Field of the Solar Corona from Pulsar Observations
Abstract. We present a novel experiment with the capacity to independently measure both the electron density and the magnetic field of the solar corona. We achieve this through measurement of the excess Faraday rotation due to propagation of the polarised emission from a number of pulsars through the magnetic field of the solar corona. This method yields independent measures of the integrated e...
متن کاملDay-Ahead Solar Forecasting Based on Multi-level Solar Measurements
The growing proliferation in solar deployment, especially at distribution level, has made the case for power system operators to develop more accurate solar forecasting models. This paper proposes a solar photovoltaic (PV) generation forecasting model based on multi-level solar measurements and utilizing a nonlinear autoregressive with exogenous input (NARX) model to improve the training and ac...
